9ct yellow gold studs with a fine cross-hatch texture, set with Australian zircons and small white diamonds. 8mm diameter, 4mm deep, total weight 1.2g.
In this collection, Stratum refers to geological layers of material formed over time under pressure, marked by mineral presence.
The works take the form of idealised core samples – discs and hollow cylinders that echo the sections extracted to study the earth’s structure.
The textured gold acts as a cut plane, while gemstones are set as mineral deposits revealed within the cross-section.
