9ct yellow gold slider pendant with grid texture, set with 4mm Queensland sapphire and smaller blue and teal sapphires, and 2.5mm and 1.75mm white diamonds. Pendant is on a 45cm 9ct yellow gold box chain. Diameter of pendant is 13mm, depth is 4.5mm.
In this collection, Stratum refers to geological layers of material formed over time under pressure, marked by mineral presence. The works take the form of idealised core samples – discs and hollow cylinders that echo the sections extracted to study the earth’s structure. The textured yellow gold acts as a cut plane, while gemstones are set as mineral deposits revealed within the cross-section.
