Layers of transparent vitreous enamel are kiln-fired over a textured surface, held within a shape that echoes volcanic crater lakes, allowing light to move through the colour and reveal the texture beneath.
Each pair is a small study of texture, colour and place.

This piece bears the patina of oxidisation, a controlled surface treatment that darkens the metal to enhance contrast, texture and form.
Over time this will soften to a gentle grey and the piece may be re-oxidised to black if desired.
Each pair is handmade and carefully quality-checked at every stage; however, gentle variations in tone and texture are a natural part of this human craft.
